This notice explains what personal data The Dental Network collects, why, and your rights under UK data protection law.

What we collect

Account details: name, email address, password (stored securely hashed by our authentication provider).
Professional details you add: role, GDC registration number, qualifications, workplaces, interests and photo.
Content you share and your activity on the network.

Who can see it

Your profile is visible only to signed-in members — never to the open internet or search engines.
Your GDC registration number is visible only to you and our verification team.
You can hide your workplaces and control who can message or connect with you in Settings.

Where it is stored

Data is stored in the United Kingdom (London) with our infrastructure provider, Supabase. Photos are stored privately and served only to people allowed to see them. Location and camera data are removed from photos before upload.

Deleting your account

When you delete your account, your profile is hidden immediately and your data is erased after 14 days. Comments you made in other people’s discussions are kept so conversations still make sense, but are anonymised.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to processing. Contact support@thedentalnetwork.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
